Whatever your level, you will improve.
Each class usually has a mix of abilities, so you will get the chance to work with more experienced members as well as those on the same level of yourself. It is important that you have access to a range of abilities in order to test yourself and discover your strengths and weaknesses.
Goals and focus
Combat Taekwondo training is really diverse, there are multiple facets to training and it is impossible to do everything during each class. So in order to make the most of the time we have, we will focus on one or two areas each session, usually Tuesday sessions are technique and sparring, where in Thursday sessions we focus on technique and SCAR (strength, conditioning, agility and reaction) training.
Structured learning
We have our own unique grading system, it is focussed not only on perfecting technique, but also, and maybe more importantly, on your ablity to utilise these techniques effectively. Unlike most martial arts, and indeed, traditional Taekwondo, there are no time restrictions on grading, it is based purely on ability, so you really do get out as much as you put in.
Lastly, it is most important that while we work hard, we have a fun and friendly atmosphere. We help each other, we encourage each other, we push each other to improve and we grow together. Your fellow students will be your biggest supporters and will respect you at all times.
